 The design of this family vacation home was a delicate balancing act between bold, contemporary aesthetics and a relaxed, coastal vibe. The clients, originally from New York, were accustomed to a more urban, sophisticated style but wanted their Florida getaway to feel like an escape—a place where they could unwind yet still enjoy a sense of refine elegance. The home reflects their desire for something unique, combining dark accents that give the space a grounded, sophisticated edge, while lighter tones help maintain an airy, relaxed atmosphere.

A unique aspect of this project was the long-distance collaboration. The clients were only able to see the final design once it was completed, which presented an exciting challenge. Communication was key, with frequent virtual meetings, mood boards, and design mock-ups to ensure the homeowners’ vision was being implemented

To keep the overall feel relaxed, the layout was kept open and airy, with spaces that flowed seamlessly from one to the next. The kitchen, living area, and dining room are all interconnected, with large windows framing views of the outdoor landscape. These spaces are complemented by a combination of natural light and strategically placed decorative lighting, which give the home a serene yet sophisticated glow. The addition of outdoor living spaces, with a large pool and lanai, further enhances the home’s ambiance.
