Step inside this artistic-inspired home that is anything but your typical coastal home. Designed for a ceramic artist, this unique home boasts many one-of-a-kind design aspects. From custom live edge study door commissioned from Jeremy Jones to a powder room sink that was handmade by the client, this home renovation will inspire you to inject your personality into your future renovation projects. Let’s take a closer look at the renovation process and explore some of the features that make this home truly special.

The space was originally very dated, with traditional coffered ceilings and other features that closed off the space making it feel congested and dark. Our design team’s goal was to create a more open floor plan with a better flow while still defining spaces and creating intimacy and purpose for each space. They opened up the floor plan, enhancing the natural light and creating a cohesive flow between the different areas of the home. The result is a home that feels bright and spacious, inviting you to explore the space and the client’s unique collection of art displayed thoughtfully throughout the home.

One of the most striking features of this renovation is the custom live edge door and the European white oak live edge floating shelf in the entryway. These key features add a touch of nature and elegance to the space, while also commanding attention. These focal pieces were designed to reflect the ceramics artist’s love for natural textures and finishes, juxtaposed by natural stone, metal, and porcelain materials. There is no doubt these architectural elements enhance the overall aesthetic of the home and are sure to leave a lasting first impression.

The powder room sink is another feature that is truly unique. Handmade by the client herself, it was made in collaboration with the design team to ensure it was the perfect size, shape, and glazed finish to fit the overall design of the space. Principal Designer Brooke Meyer says, “The sink is one of my favorite parts of this design, and was one of the most unique experiences we’ve ever been able to share with a client.” She goes on to say, “Having the client collaborate so closely with us on this made the design that much more special.”

The entry and dining areas certainly underwent a transformation; however; prepare to be stunned by the jaw-dropping transformation of the kitchen in this home renovation project. The once cramped and dreary space has undergone a miraculous makeover, now boasting an expanse that’ll leave you breathless. The custom-built kitchen hood and spacious counters are absolute showstoppers, while the geometric light fixtures add an air of sophistication and drama to an already upscale area. The finished product is not only impressive, but also functional, providing an impeccable entertaining atmosphere for both family gatherings and intimate dinner parties. This kitchen is the epitome of an eloquent, high-end design perfectly reflecting the artistic taste of the client while allowing the opportunity to add pops of color with accessories which can easily be exchanged as the client’s collection of ceramic art pieces evolves.

Throughout the home, the design team incorporated a design palette that reflected the ceramics artist’s love for various textures, finishes, and glazes. The color scheme is sophisticated, using neutral colors with pops of aqua, greens, and even orange. These pops of color complement the natural textures and finishes throughout the space, creating a cohesive and visually stunning home. The end result of this home renovation is nothing short of breathtaking and is refreshing in a sea of coastal blue hues.
